PETALING JAYA: More Malaysian companies should gain a foothold in tapping the region's lucrative sustainable transportation and renewable energy sectors, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The call by the Transport Minister comes in light of the massive investment poured by the United States into Asean.

"For a region of more than 662 million people and with an economy of US$3.2tril, there are a lot of opportunities in transport and logistics development for Asean-born companies to develop and support for decades to come.
