Many companies are suffering from 'productivity paranoia'

Microsoft Corp. surveyed 20,000 people in 11 countries and analyzed trillions of Microsoft 365 productivity signals

Microsoft found the number of meetings per week has increased 153% since the start of the pandemic, while more employees are double-booked and actively sending emails to other colleagues during meetings — a sign of a time crunch that shows employees are juggling a lot of tasks. He said ultimately managers and business owners need to find a balance between trust and monitoring so employees feel they have the freedom to work independently., co-founder and CEO at Slack-based trust and spontaneous collaboration tool Donut, said healthy employee-leadership relations will help address productivity paranoia and ease tensions.

He said employers need to be flexible, and the companies that have empowered and productive employees will help boost retention and encourage productivity.
