The Jax Chamber’s Lewis and White Business League has received a donation of $50,000, which the organization said will be applied towardFor HCA Florida Healthcare in Florida, the donation marks the group’s latest investment in the Jacksonville area.
The simulation center delivers hands-on training at UNF Brooks College of Health for nursing students and continuing education for HCA Healthcare colleagues. The League is an extension of the National Negro Business League founded in 1900 by Booker T. Washington with a goal to advance economic conditions for Black residents. Two influential Jacksonville business leaders —A.L. Lewis and Dr. Eartha White — were both charter members.as a modern-day forum and program designed to improve economic opportunity for Black residents. Lewis and White were honored as the namesake.
Robinson said the focus has been leveraging Jax Chamber resources to contribute to the Black business community, specifically small businesses.
