“It's not like just fixing things – it's also caring for things a little bit more, so extending their life that way," said LEC chair Jessica Frenette.Quite often, people tend to have that one thing they are holding onto at home that needs some help to be useful again. And although the volunteers offered their best expertise, there’s no guarantee for everything to be fixed – but there is a lot to learn from trying. One group had a fun experience taking apart and learning about the different parts of a Coleman stove.There were also sewing, mechanical and tools sharpening opportunities – saving people from having to go buy tools that they might just use once.
