Signs for new tea rooms, a pet supplies shop and wine tasting bar have been put up at Arnold's new £4 million market. 1 Market Street, Catdog and Taste First are set to join the Post Office at the recently unveiled Arnold Market Place .
Now, signs have been stuck in the windows of the empty units which read: 'coming soon'. One Arnold shopper said the new businesses would make a nice change. They said: "I would definitely go to the tea rooms, I always like to give new things a go," she said. "There's a lot of cafes already but some tea rooms would make a nice change, it would be quite a nice thing and something different."Another 58-year-old shopper, who wished to remain anonymous, said she expected the pet supplies shop to be popular.
Up to £4 million was allocated to the AMP, opened on October 13, as part of Gedling Borough Council's plan to revitalise the centre and attract visitors, which they say is the most significant investment the town centre has ever had. Funding for the project came from the council's capital programme budget, boosted by a successful bid for £1.25 million from the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership’s Local Growth Fund that supports town centre improvements.
