Elon Musk says he had no choice but to fire half of Twitter's work force, claiming the app was losing $4 million per day.

Elon says the folks who were laid off were offered 3 months of severance pay, which he says is"50% more than legally required."in the cuts, with roughly 3,700 people being let go from the company.

Elon fired off a chilling memo to Twitter's workforce Thursday, informing them layoffs were coming ... and employees fired back with a preemptive lawsuit.

Twitter currently is pure craziness. Hanging around for a bit to see how crazy it gets😜

He's a billionaire and we arent. Pretty sure he knows how to run a business.

I wouldnt complain he may need to hire some people back not bitchers though so be cool there are more jobs to be had .

Right. Because it’s smart to pay $44B for a company losing 1.6B a year.

When companies get bought out that is always the first thing that happens.. They clean house.

It’s ok!!! How many people lost their job when Biden shut down pipeline. Hake many people lost their job because the did not get the Vax. But Elon restructured a company he bought and fired some people. Front page news. Your sick and ridiculously fake

Why they need that many ppl working for a app that can be run by 2 ppl.

His company, his rules. Good for him.

I heard Elon Musk borrowed 12 Billion from investors and banks to help buy Twitter and that’s why he fired half of the staff and than wants to charge $8 per month for free speech. Just a rumor or is it? Do your thing TMZ

Glad he did! Bye censors!

Awesome!

🤷🏾‍♂️HE RIGHT

But he did we all have choices

Didn't Musk want to back out of the deal only to be forced to buy? The Twitter board even voted to accept his bid. Once Musk bought Twitter, those who bought the $54 stock will receive that back. Tesla's stock has dropped 35%. I wouldn't be surprised if Musk sells Twitter soon.

That's a bunch of 🐂 💩! He's just playing a game of who's cock 🐓 is bigger!!!!! It's a 1 percenter thing!!!

Bullshit

Is it ok not to feel sad for those multimillionaires that got laid off? If Twitter is still function despite that enormous layoff, then something was very wrong with the way that organization was being run. Let’s see how things carry on going forward.

He is destroying twitter

That’s a 120 million a month. Damn my G you a genius

Soooooo. Uhm position is open. 👀

👀👀👀👀👀

He can do whatever he wants! He bought it and owns it! Your opinions don't matter! Its called Capitalism! Suck it!

He's not very good at this. I can't believe some people thought this dirt bag was smart.

😂😂 scandalous mofo....he did that out of spite smdh...but....then again...🤔🤷🏾‍♀️ dats their fault...they didnt have to sell Twitter to him...🤷🏾‍♀️da first time he backed him out then they could have left him alone 🤷🏾‍♀️🙄

they got fired without notice so they gonna get paid soon

You Need To Get Educated...Wake Up

They get 3 months of severance pay, which is 3 months more than I ever got when I was terminated during a budgetary layoff.

We know u bought to keep trump a voice this time around. Can't bleed dry until then

They all sucked anyway, if devs I know told me anything 😂

So its all about the money?

So firing all those people is going to stop him from losing money 🤭😂 phew rich ppl problems

How?… Why?… bye bye

What did he expect advertisers to do, keep running ad campaigns on an app he said was crap with no clear direction and no support or means to show ROI? They likely all paused or cancelled and now here he is losing $4M a day.

Just half?

Genius

How they been running for so long then? This clown comes along and allll of a sudden they got problems

Feo

Elon Musk must be not 😴 sleeping at night 🌃 for losing 4 millions dollars every day

He is losing 4 millions dollars 💵 bucks a day because of declining of advertisements

Wild

He just paying back what he owes

We will see

I hope it was one of those they had me locked out for over a week.

That loss is about to get higher

Glad I have a job where the place would fall apart if they fired me.

what's up with that face though?

elonmusk is a fraud. According to salary data from twitter, the entire workforce twitter should be costing it less than 1 billion annually. 1.5b max on the high end. Twitter revenues exceed 5B. Even if some advertisers left, it could still sustain its workforce

That’s so sad so many people out of a job right before Christmas

How many people did they need ? They're not as big as Facebook 🤷🏿‍♂️

So he cuts all the employees before trying to implement the new ways to raise revenue.

Bc the platform gets income from advertisers but when u pop off with questionable morals company will drop u fast. Add in a pending class action lawsuit 🤦🏻‍♀️

Of course he's lying...

I'm just here to read the good Americans rejoice at the firing of Twitter staff

Hope it was worth it because the class action suits that come out of this are going to make him lose even more.

🤔

I’m curious as to how an app that is up and running for years needs so many staff writing code day in and day out. Just curious what they were building.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

Why the fukkkkk is he complaining.. isn’t he supposed to be a billionaire 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How can a app lose money ?

He freed the Bird also freed some leftist naxals.

not the root cause.. Soros war chest for advertisers.. the end game is for Elon Musk to be forced to sell twitter back for $1 - and I mean a single Dollar.

What a clown?! He bought Twitter, an app that loses money and isn’t worth $44b just to prove a point about his fake news!
