Updated numbers from the Arizona Secretary of State's office showed key races remain in play. phoenix

By KTAR NewsDemocrat Katie Hobbs maintained a small lead Wednesday evening over Republican Kari Lake in the race for Arizona governor.

The incumbent had a 51.4% to 46.4% advantage over Masters in results posted to the Arizona Secretary of State’s website around 7 p.m. Libertarian Marc Victor had 2.1%. Victor dropped out the race a week before Election Day, too late to be removed from the ballot, and threw his support behind Masters.

The seat is a key piece in the battle for control of the Senate, which was divided 50-50 — giving Democrats control because they hold the White House — heading into the midterms.In the race for Arizona attorney general, Democrat Kris Mayes retook the lead over Republican Abe Hamadeh on Wednesday evening.
