St. Augustine, like much of Florida, dealt with a severe storm for the second time this hurricane season on Thursday. And like before, it was back to mostly normal operation a day later.
On the Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend, it was certainly easier to find parking than one might be used to. However, streets that were flooded a day earlier were occupied with traffic — both pedestrian and vehicular. "Overall, the city fared well, with vulnerable areas hit the hardest," Vice-Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline said in a statement."Swift clean-up efforts are underway with the focus on getting back to normal as soon as possible."
