With 162 rooms, the property will take on an aparthotel function with cooking facilities for guests.Located on the banks of the River Clyde, the design of the hotel has been a collaboration with Glasgow Art School students and aims to capture Glasgow's industrial shipbuilding heritage with nautical designs.
Students have also taken inspiration from the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and their interpretations of his iconic rose will be displayed in the rooms. A spokesperson said the aparthotel "aims to be a lively place in the city, a casual spot where Glaswegians and guests alike can meet in a relaxed atmosphere, all with Adagio’s high-quality furnishings and top standard of service."
