J.K. Symancyk understands why the Phoenix area is important to his company and why his company is important to Phoenix.
When the company went private in 2014 after being publicly traded for more than 20 years, there were some rumors that PetSmart could move its headquarters out of Phoenix. But Symancyk said that won’t be happening because much of the company’s history and the knowledge of the pet retail industry is in the Valley.
“I had a St. Bernard growing up and what I thought was great care at that point I’d be embarrassed today,” Symancyk said. “The world has moved a lot and how we view that human animal bond and we’re part of that.
