'It's been a lifestyle.'

Shona Bench, who runs Ashton Stores, in Gourock's Albert Road is selling the lease and the business.

The 51-year-old says it has been a labour of love but one that fulfilled an ambition - and she feels now is the time to move on, reports The Greenock Telegraph."It's been a lifestyle."I feel it's time to slow down."My first grandchild Ayla was also born three months ago and I would like to spend more time with her."She said:"I will massively miss all my customers and the whole business, it's a great store.

"It is in a lovely area with lots of loyal customers and I would like to thank all of them for the support they have given us over the years." Shona, who runs the shop with her partner Jim Ward, feels content to go now that she has fulfilled a dream come true."I'm pleased with myself and now I can move on."I'll be looking for a part-time job."

The asking price for the premises leasehold is £30,000, with the option to create a new 10-20 year lease with the owner at £7,200 per annum.
