“We want to make sure we’re doing our due diligence, collecting all the evidence [and] pursuing the investigations in the ways that we need to,” the FTC chief said when being asked if companies could expect an acceleration in investigations by the agency.

The head of the Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday predicted an uptick in investigations by the agency, even as she said it is “outgunned” by major corporations.

“But,” she added, “we already have a pretty heavy docket, and I think we’re going to continue to see more in that direction.” Khan said Tuesday that her 1,100-person agency is outgunned “something like 10 to one” in its case against Meta.
