Protests in Iran entered the 83rd day as students took to the streets and shopkeepers closed their businesses and went on strike in response to death of Mahsa Amini.

As Iran marked the country's student day on Tuesday protesters from college campuses demonstrated against the regime. on Wednesday as protests stemming from the death of Mahsa Amini continued into the 83rd day.

Iranian government forces have reportedly sealed up many shops across the country in retaliation for joining the merchant strike, and protesters were reported to have clashed with government forces on Wednesday. "It is time for the international community to go beyond words and symbolic sanctions, and take concrete steps, including the severance of diplomatic ties, the expulsion of the regime’s envoys, and the recognition of the Iranian people’s right to defend themselves," Safavi said."A misogynous, child-killing regime has no place in the community of civilized nations. Its leaders, including Ali Khamenei and Ebrahim Raisi must be held to account.
