The latest incident comes after a similar row broke out over the sale of Parachute Regiment and UVF emblems in the city

A council was forced to step in at a Christmas market after pictures emerged of alleged 'IRA memorabilia' being sold.

The latest incident comes after a similar row broke out over the sale of Parachute Regiment and UVF emblems in the waterside area of the city during an Apprentice Boys march in August. "Following receipt of a complaint on Saturday, Council officers made contact with the stall holder who voluntarily agreed to remove any items which were considered insensitive."

EmmetDoyleDerry dcsdcouncil derrycc Thoughts? This is extremely distasteful, offensive and disgusting. At a Christmas market of all places? I despair.

No word of all the UVF and para flags and loyalists paraphernalia sold in Derry from a stall? Two sides to every coin in this state .

Family & friends were disgusted. Avoid the place people & go elsewhere Merry Xmas We visited the markets on Friday, a wonderful visit.
