Walt Disney shares hit their lowest level this year after the opening weekend earnings for the new Avatar film “disappointed expectations”, according to CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski.

Mr Piotrowski said Avatar: The Way of Water generated $US134 million in its opening weekend in North America, however analysts were expecting figures “significantly higher” at around $US175 million.

“There are comparisons being made to the first Avatar film in 2009 which actually went on to become the highest-grossing film,” he told Sky News Australia.Presented by CommSec.

Let’s see how woke props up the bank account!

Lmao

I gave it 1 star and a total waste of money

Go woke. Go broke. I don’t watch woke movies anymore. That’s why Top Gun was amazing. Simple story, no lecturing, no virtue signalling. Men are men, women are women, bad guys are bad guys. The end.

People don't hate Avatar, they hate Disney.

The cast isn’t diverse enough.

Go woke go broke

Always thought it should be no sequel.

Karma's a bitch

I forgot Disney bought Avatar yet again another 20th century Fox franchise down the drain with Disney

Woke crap eventually sinks....

Disney™ That means it's working.

Disney is yet another of the Woke to go broke. Disney forgets what made them a great organisation long ago, forgets your principles, forgets decency, good luck with entertaining the Woke Mob.
