The agency reported an adjusted loss of $473 million for fiscal year 2022 in November, following a one-time, non-cash benefit of $57 billion to net income from the Postal Service Reform Act.

The Postal Service said the new electric vehicles will begin to replace its aging delivery fleet of over 220,000 mail trucks. The funding will also be spent on constructing tens of thousands of charging stations. The agency hopes that by 2026 all its newly purchased mail delivery trucks

The US Postal service was created by the US Government as a “service” to benefit the United States. It was not created to make a profit. It is essential to keep US commerce flowing, period.

How are we going to charge them all? Will the power grid support the charging? Where will the electricity come from? Is fossil fuel used to generate electricity? How much fossil fuel was used in the mining of the minerals for the batteries? ElectricVehicles are not green.
