Under a new resolution, UN member states are no longer required to notify the Security Council of arms sales or military support to the Congolese government.The embargo was first imposed after the end of a civil war in 2003 that left Democratic Republic of Congo’s vast mineral-rich east plagued by militia activity.
“France has heard the requests of the DRC to support capacity building and the reform of the Congolese armed forces,” France’s Deputy UN Ambassador Nathalie Broadhurst said in a statement. The situation in Congo continues to constitute a threat to international peace and security in the region, the UN Security Council said.
The UN as a front for the colonialists (Nato) is intent on balkanizing the DRC ,so that they can continue looting the country .
