Roy Alaimo has been selected to represent District 3 on the St. Johns County Commission.the death of Commissioner Paul Waldron, 53, in October.Alaimo is a former district representative for the U.S. House of Representatives and previously served as the chair of the St. Johns County Planning and Zoning Agency. He is also the owner of Alaimo Strategies, a St. Augustine-based consulting firm.
“I am honored and humbled to be appointed by Gov. DeSantis to serve on the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners,” Alaimo said in a release. “I am excited for the opportunity, and I look forward to serving the community.” Alaimo will take the ceremonial oath of office during the Jan. 17 meeting. His term will last until the 2024 election.
