The biggest mistake the Europeans made was not listening to Pershing who wanted a complete military victory over Germany, instead the allies stopped and German people blamed the politicians for the surrender, that resentment helped the rise of the Nazis.

No side “won” world War 1, there was an armistice signed to end hostilities . It came into effect 11am, 11th November 1918. 🙄
