Meet the fresh batch of school children from across Northern Ireland cooking up a storm in this year's FutureChef NI final

Meet the fresh batch of school children from across Northern Ireland cooking up a storm in this year's FutureChef NI final.

Caitriona said:"We use FurtureChef as a way of Springboarding them into the industry - it is challenging at the moment getting people into it and we feel that this competition is a really good way of igniting a fire in those young people's bellies to get them thinking about hospitality. Out of almost 1,500 students who registered to take part in the competition, 41 aspiring chefs made it through to the regional heats under the guidance of Geoff.

"To get involved again this year was just a no-brainer and the numbers have just shot up and every time we have had a heat, it's just been a real positive atmosphere and buzz and a really good feeling. The judges include Paula McIntyre, Sean Owens, Noel McMeel and Geoff with last year's Northern Ireland winner Michael Thompson attending as an alumni judge.
