One local business expert said the incoming park has shifted the area’s growth trajectory forward. Residents have mixed reactions.
Frisco and surrounding cities are known for being big magnets for families, so it’s not a shock to real estate agents that Universal would build a kid-centric park in town. Frisco home prices have risen dramatically over the past three years, from about $656,000 in November 2019 to $720,000 in November 2022, according to local Realtor associations and the Texas Real Estate Research Center at Texas A&M University.
“Now I don’t have to go to Orlando or California, nor do I have to drive an hour to go to Six Flags,” Dere said in an email. “You think about all the jobs this is going to create, they will all need a place to live,” Penney said, noting that Disney employs thousands in its parks. “Even if it’s a fraction of that, that’s a massive amount of people looking for a place to live.”
