A Chicago bookstore owner's Twitter post about an 'expensive' return has gone viral after she alleged a customer returned $800 worth of books that was used as temporary decor.

"Please don’t do this to a small business, people," she continued."That one sale was a third of our rent."and has garnered more than 85,600 likes, 5,510 retweets and 880 comments.Twitter users have responded to George’s post by asking where they can make online purchases books or donations to support the indie shop.

A Twitter user claiming to be a bookstore employee wrote that the company they work for has a no-return policy for similar reasons. So what? Why is anyone giving her money? My small business took back an order of $4470 today to make a customer happy.

Who buys $800 of books? I wouldn’t have taken them back.

If the first question they ask is 'Do you accept returns?' you can be assured they will return it.
