IPOH: Ipoh Central Market will be renovated and upgraded this year, says Nga Kor Ming.

Nga said the work included repairs to the basic amenities to create a cleaner and more comfortable environment for traders and visitors.

"After this, we will plan for another thorough repair project and will announce it when we have more details," he said, adding that the market caters to some 800,000 people here. Nga also announced another RM1mil to build a temporary market to house traders from the Pasir Pinji wet market, as the existing premises will be redeveloped into a modern market.
