To combat these problems, Oxfam urged higher taxes on the rich, through a combination of measures including one-time “solidarity” taxes and raising minimum rates for the wealthiest. The group noted that billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s true tax rate from 2014 to 2018 was just over 3%. “What we’re calling for is windfall taxes, not only on energy companies but also on food companies to end this crisis profiteering,” Bucher told The Associated Press in an interview.

Tax tax tax. Enough with taxes. Cut taxes in half and cut out all useless government services.

Taxes on food that people can’t afford now ? WTF is wrong with these people ?

Awww NO! And please defund OXFAM it’s useless!

Why is the answer always more taxes?

Typical OX-FAM response which would lead to even higher food prices! Like to know just what OX-FAM has achieved using millions $ since the 60's?

Judges, lawyers and cops are proof that there is no rule of law in Canada. They do things that would put normal people in jail or have consequences. Local media has ignored this problem ruthlessly and helped these bad actors stay hidden. For example:

Oh thank God. There's no way that tax will be passed down to consumers 🙄

So tax food companies more. Drive up pricing and inflation for consumers especially the most vulnerable. Sounds like the dumbest idea ever from Oxfam

Reminder to everyone: when you tax something you get less of it. Food is important never let these insane commies within 10ft of any policy about it

So they will just pass the taxes on to the customers. And still make record profits.

What the hell has Davos got to do with anything, there should be no taxes on food, the carbon tax is just a tax grabbing SCAM, Davos is a bunch of loser billionaires that think they're more important than anyone else, need to be banned in every country in the world, FFS Let's be clear on who will pay that tax.... It won't be the food companies, it will be the CUSTOMERS, who are all already paying too much for food. No thanks.
