Bend Beauty of Halifax has released Gut Glow, which the company says treats a wide variety of gastrointestinal ills. - HandoutMarc St. Onge has a new product that plenty of people will want to talk about, but probably in private.

Gut Glow, a vegan, gastrointestinal prebiotic supplement powder, is designed to have no taste and no discernible texture. “This one doesn’t have any authorized skin claims, although there is growing evidence around what we call the gut-skin axis,” St. Onge said. “There’s published information around how gastrointestinal issues can manifest in the skin. There’s even a belief that there’s a connection to things like eczema. Our other products do have direct skin benefits, and they’re all ingestible products.”

A 240-gram recyclable, carbon-negative bio-pouch of Gut Glow retails for $59 and is intended to last 45 days. Locally, it’s for sale in spas like Spirit Spa and Interlude Spa, and health food retailers such as Luminate, and Honey and Ginger.
