He mounted bright floodlights on a property he owns there, and residents allege he has created other problems, including leaving the van in one of the few public parking spots available in the Outer Battery. Some residents in the Outer Battery allege one of the bullying tactics used by Colin Way is to park his ServiceMaster van in ways that cause difficulty for others. - FacebookIn recent weeks, the lighting issue blew up on social media, inspiring memes, a"This Hour Has 22 Minutes" sketch and shining more light on the other problems residents are concerned about, such as the van.

Mayor Danny Breen called the issues a conflict between neighbours, and said it would not be appropriate for the city to create a bylaw to address one situation.The ongoing issues have led to multiple court actions so far, both criminal and civil. Way is facing two counts of mischief and a single count of extortion related to the lights and parking, and another man was recently charged with allegedly trying to remove the lights.
