People are excited to make short term bank on the stock if this goes through

Calm takes breath: Echoes in our brains ' Makes america great again' Remember you remember.

Lampert is a crook who ran it into the ground from his island. I hope there is some justice int he world and he ends up broke and in jail.

This is what happens when you stop investing in yourself. High profits are not sustainable. There isn't a reason in the world you couldn't have been Amazon.... All the tools were there. So sad.

So, my Mother's washer won't be 'fixed'- again, I guess. We're still waiting on parts. Their techs did shoddy work for two years. The washer should've been replaced. I'm not the only one losing out, there are many of us. Sears

CNN IS A “ communist network enemy of the world

What's going to change if they stay open? Sears had a century to evolve, yet didn't. They sat by and allowed society to out-pace them, yet, as sad as I am to see them fail, it was by their OWN unwillingness to adapt. So what will change?

Sad to see Slow Demise of Sears--Amazon.com of its time.

Delaying the inevitable. Pull the plug...

reminding those old days that all suppliers in the whole world once had dreamed to have their goods displayed on Sears' hangers.

I am unfollowing you because your decision to give an air time to our Russian elected p!! Shame on you!!

Sears is a despicable corporate citizen. Reminds me of the corruption of the trump business man. Gouge everyone and everything in it's path, always and forever.

Please don't shut down

To satirize the bankruptcy that almost was, there was a grim reaper knocking on their front door wearing a Kaufmann's T-shirt.

Prolonging the inevitable.

hmmm

Hedge fund would pull a toy's r us and it would be gone in 12 months anyway.

Another bandage on a hemorrhage.

Sears got too 'comfy' before ordering online became fashionable. I recall encountering two rude salespersons, both very condescending. Who needs that? I said goodbye to Sears in the mid-1990s. Way to rest on your laurels and not care about the customer experience.

I don’t get why Sears wasn’t Amazon. How did they not try to compete with Amazon?

Sears was once a great company, but why prolong the inevitable? They missed the boat with the internet. Just RIP already.

Is this the hedge fund that is managed by the same Sears CEO in charge of restructuring Sears? Sounds like a conflict of interest. If not, then a VERY profitable position to be in. The only position more profitable would if you were POTUS & charging rent to Secret Service.

Why is CNN not reporting on Ed Buck Hmmm?

That's a neat trick...take your public company into bankruptcy and them buy it for pennies.

Tough day to be a giant letter assembler/disassembler.

Well hopefully the HF Managers have some type of modern retail sense... Sears hasn't listen yet... Thinking 1950 marketing still worked... Maybe better to sell assets and take a marked down profit.

If they have recently paid out tons of cash to their board of directors, they don't deserve to stay a float.

I have a friend who works for Sears (human resources manager), and some how the two locations in my town are still open. I hope for her sake, and for the sake of all who need this job to support their families this deal works

Then I hope that hedge fund goes towards making them an online retailer because that's the only way they have a chance of hell of turning things around.

Why bother Sadly the executives of Sears are stuck in 1980 and have made it apparent that they lack the foresight to keep up with any modern sales trends. They cannot even keep their stores clean. Their stores remind me of the old Gibson's chain, discount and nasty.

Still love Sears to this day.

Why?

Just let it go with dignity.

this is the saddest Brandon_Bird painting ever.

The vultures have come in to pick at the bones.

This hedge fund is controlled by the CEO that destroyed Sears. Come on CNN, you can do better than this.

Man I want that S

Just shut it down!!! Prolonging this nonsense.

If it closes, where will we get our mens, womens & children clothing, our perfume & cologne, towels, batteries, camping equipment, die hard batteries, tools, home appliances, lingerie for a spouse? Weird combo, not here, like the last 25 years.

I have not shopped at Sears sense my oldest child was in kindergarten, they are 56 years old now.

Jesus, it would be more merciful to just put them out of their misery

ahhh......delaying the inevitable.

Dude so missed an opportunity to spell out the word 'arses' here

That is the saddest picture.

Cognitive dissonance.

This is so sad Sears built early America, they are struggling to keep themselves afloat good luck Sears.

Do not prolong the inevitable. Sears is dead. The internet took Sears life.

Please. Somebody put them out of their misery.

Is the Hedge Fund located in Russia or Switzerland?

Omg
