Nottinghamshire is already looking to poach stall holders from Lincoln Christmas Market just a day after city leaders cancelled the event.
“It has been a huge success for the city and for economic regeneration,” he told the authority’s cabinet on Tuesday. “Officers are going to look at options to see if Ashfield can accommodate what Lincoln now doesn’t think is viable there. More than 3,800 people have signed a petition to save the market and a public meeting last week saw 100 people gather to air their concerns.
Get rid of the fairground, spread stalls around the Cathedral, restrict the number of buses per day, make them apply for a pass, extend to Wednesday, plenty of possible solutions. You NEED to want solutions however.
Lincoln city Council have sold the city they should hang heads in Shane and all be named who voted against market and then we can abuse them
Shocker, lincoln Council is a disgrace, talk about stab local businesses in the back. They should hang their head in shame and resign.
Let the people of lincoln decide
There will be no one going at Christmas to the hotels and to Lincoln. They have just killed off Lincoln Vote them out.
Should have tested an all ticket event this year with smaller comfortable numbers, instead of knee jerking into cancelling the whole event. I don’t think Lincoln will see the Xmas market again.
All the council have done is drive people away to Nottingham and York. Total and complete incompetence.
