Internet service provider AfriHost said on its website that both fibre-to-the-home companies Vumatel and Evotel informed it of a"network outage affecting Gauteng, [where] affected clients will experience no connectivity."
Another service provider, Easyweb sent out a message advising clients it is"aware of multiple areas down" on Vumatel's network."We are busy escalating with them to get the problem resolved as quickly as possible," it said. Evotel posted on Twitter that is is"are aware of the disruptions on our networks", and that its"team is investigating and further information will be provided when available.
Vumatel's social media, and network status section on its website were not updated yet with information on the outage. The Down Detector website reported a major spike in reported Vumatel outages on Tuesday morning. _Business Well whay do expect from an organization like Vumatel which is a privately owned company but acts as a god damn Govt SOE like Eskom, SABC, Transnet, Denel, etc. its actually no supprize as this entity swollows up all smaller fiber co's & currently has a monopoly on the industry.
