Here's the load shedding schedule for the start of this week

Stage one load shedding, which started at 16:00 on Sunday, will last until 05:00 on Monday morning.Stage 3 then kicks in until 05:00 on Tuesday.

Breakdowns are currently at 14 489MW of generating capacity while 6 190MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance. In the past 24 hours, three generation units were returned to service at Hendrina, Majuba and Tutuka power stations, but a generating unit at Arnot, Camden, Kriel and Tutuka power stations were taken offline for repairs.

Load shedding will remain suspended until 05:00 on Monday, when Stage 1 loadhedding will be implemented until 16:00, Eskom said on Sunday. "Due to some recovery in generation capacity over the past 48 hours and lower-than-expected demand, load shedding will be reduced to Stage 1 from 05:00 on Saturday until 16:00," Eskom said in a statement on Friday.Load shedding will be suspended on Sunday between 05:00 and 16:00.

Stage 4 was supposed to start at 16:00 on Wednesday and continue throughout the night, but this is no longer the case.Due to some recovery in generation capacity over the past 48 hours, load shedding will be reduced to Stage 3 from 05:00 on Wednesday until 16:00. Breakdowns currently total 13 949MW of generating capacity while 4 322MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance. Eskom suspended Stage 5 load shedding on Monday"due to some recovery in the generation capacity over the past 24 hours", it said.

"During the same period a generating unit each at Kriel, Medupi and Tutuka power stations were taken offline for repairs. The return to service of a generating unit each at Duvha, Medupi, Tutuka and two units at Hendrina power stations are delayed. Breakdowns are currently at 16 469MW of generating capacity while 4 652MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance.Eskom has announced that there will not be any Stage 5 load shedding for the week, as previously communicated; however, Stage 4 will continue until further notice. 06 March 19:25Stage 4 and 5 load shedding will continue to be implemented throughout the week, Eskom said on Monday evening.

Breakdowns currently amount to 17 622MW of generating capacity while 4 659MW of generating capacity is out of service for planned maintenance. Following the failure of five generating units today, Stage 5 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 today until 05:00 tomorrow whereafter Stage 4 loadshedding will resume until further notice.Following the failure of five generating units on Monday, Stage 5 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on Tuesday, Eskom said.

Thereafter, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 followed by Stage 3 load shedding until 05:00 on Monday morning.03 March 11:34Rudi Dicks, head of project management in the office of the Presidency: A one stop shop for energy is being formed at the DTIC .
