Liontown rejects $3.7 billion acquisition by Albemarle, stock soars

Liontown Resources said today it turned down an unsolicited bid by lithium giant Albemarle for $3.7 billion.

Liontown controls two lithium deposits in Western Australia. Next year the company plans to start production at its Kathleen Valley operation with production set at 3Mtpa. In June of last year Liontown signed an offtake with Ford.Follow michaelmccrae mmccrae@kitco.com www.kitco.com
