The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines urged Filipino workers in South Korea to be careful in accepting businesses and investments to avoid scams.

The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines urged Filipino workers in South Korea to be careful when accepting businesses and investments to avoid scams.

In a statement, the Embassy warned workers to be careful and critical of businesses and investments promising quick and "risk-free" profits. “Magtanong at siyasatin nang maigi ang background at record ng kumpanya at personalidad sa likod ng mga transaksyong ito, at alamin kung ito ay may kaakibat na dokumento, rehistro, o business permit mula sa mga awtoridad, upang maiwasang maging biktima ng “scam” o pandarambong,” it said.

The Embassy also warned those who use or attempt to use the name or image of staff and offices of the Republic of the Philippines without express permission for personal and private business or transactions, as this is against the law. Meanwhile, the Assistance-to-Nationals Section of the Embassy remains open to guide Filipinos to know the legal processes regarding various scams or frauds in South Korea.—Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
