Venture capital investment in Ireland plummeted in the first three months of 2023, declining 57 per cent versus the same period a year earlier, new figures show.

According to the data, 24 VC deals closed in the first quarter that were worth a combined $172.8 million .

While the number of transactions remained on a par with the first three months of 2022, deal value fell by over half, from $401 million.
