The layoffs are expected to take place by June 30.

The Giorgi Mushroom Company will continue its operations and possibly expand.

Giorgi anticipates that employee opportunities will be provided to a substantial number of Donna Bella Farms employees, the company said in the WARN notice. The WARN Act is federal legislation that offers protection to workers, their families and communities by requiring employers to provide notice 60 days in advance of a covered-business closing and covered-business mass layoff. The WARN notice was dated April 28.
