The Blackburn billionaires started out with a single forecourt

The Issa Brothers are set to announce a £10 billion tie-up of Asda with their EG Group petrol station empire.

Sky said that together with TDR Capital, the brothers were putting the finishing touches to the potential tie-up on Thursday and are expected to announced the deal today. They already own both of the businesses.A tie-up between Asda and EGGroup’s UK division has been mooted for months. They already have the same owners but by merging the two it could help the forecourt group, which has heavy debts.
