A company headquartered in Nottinghamshire is not commenting on reports that 80 jobs will be lost in the county. RM Resources, which supplies technology and resources to schools around the world, first opened its large Hucknall base in 2021.
The opening ceremony was attended by Gogglebox's Siddiqui family and, speaking at the time, company MD Monique Louis said: "The new Hucknall HQ is a great, fit-for-purpose space that better serves our longer-term business needs and objectives, and provides bright, contemporary working spaces which enable greater collaboration and new ways of working for our existing and future colleagues.
But a member of staff has now shared an announcement made by the company on July 13 that 80 redundancies are being made at Hucknall. Images taken from a meeting announcing the move, seen by Nottinghamshire Live, describe a challenging market environment and an increase in costs as being among the factors behind the decision., with the process reportedly due to be finished by July 18. RM Resources says it does not comment on "speculation" about its business.
The staff member who shared the announcement with Nottinghamshire Live says the redundancies impact a third of staff across various departments, with a number of job roles reportedly moving to India to cover UK redundancies. The RM Resources building in Hucknall stands at nearly 20 metres high and measures 195,840 square feet.
It is based at the 70-acre Harrier Park site, a long-term joint venture between Rolls-Royce and urban regeneration firm Muse Developments. The Hucknall centre combined four previous distribution centres operated by RM Resources.
