Located on Prescott Drive in Old Las Palmas, the low-slung 3,876-square-foot house dating to 2001 sits behind a wall and gates on a nearly two-thirds-acre lot.

News archives contend Taylor lived in or owned the house from 2004 until she died in March 2011 at age 79. The association with the Oscar-winning actress earned the house the name “Casa Elizabeth” and became a theme in marketing it as a short-term rental. But her name does not appear on property records for the house.

According to Renee Brown, director of education and associate curator at the Palm Springs Historical Society, Taylor is known only to have leased a home on Hermosa Place with her third husband, Mike Todd, in 1957.Southern California News Group also reached out to the Elizabeth Taylor Estate, but representatives did not respond in time for publication.
