In a statement, Darlington Nwauju, the spokesperson of Rivers APC, said the government should create a system that would encourage youths to acquire technical knowledge and skills for value creation. He added that more opportunities should be provided for youths in governance, noting that active participation in politics would move the country forward.“The age balance in politics is still disproportionate as we believe that more opportunities for younger people in policy development would certainly make political systems in the country better,” the statement reads.
Furthermore, he said that “skills that draw on a range of knowledge, values and attitudes to facilitate environmentally sustainable decisions in work and in life” should be prioritised. “We plead with the government of Rivers state to have faith and hope, believing that a safer and more egalitarian society can be built with the active participation of our youths in the development process.”
