The few politicians and residents fighting against Amazon did a great disservice to their fellow city residents. Think of all the ancillary jobs lost - everything from restaurants (think food service, waiters, laundry, cooks) to florists (the growers to the florist himself).

It was silly to fight Amazon

The City isn't at war with Big Tech. In NYC, and elsewhere, there's a battle shaping up between political ideology and administrative practicality - and, when ideology wins, everybody loses.
