ANGUS MacNeil has urged islanders to apply for a role on CalMac parent company’s board of directors.

It comes after it was announced by the Ferguson Marine shipyard on Wednesday that sea trials for the Glen Sannox – one of two much-delayed and over-budget ferries –The yard was rescued from collapse in 2019, unmasking extensive issues with the two vessels and sparking two parliamentary inquiries and an Audit Scotland investigation.

In particular, they are looking for candidates with direct knowledge and understanding of the needs and aspirations of rural and island communities.
