There will also be a cafe corner at the gaming centre so players can enjoy drinks and snacks whilst they play

Two Southwell businesses are working together to create something new in the town centre. Alistor Smith, owner of Fox's Toy Box, and Kate Viande, owner of The Pet Store, are teaming up to open a new gaming cafe and pet shop.

. Both Alistor and Kate will become co-owners of each of the businesses, which are due to close on Saturday, September 16, and reopen in the new locations on Monday, October 2.Alistor said: "Southwell has been so wonderful and supportive, and for us to create this gaming centre is a dream come true. Every single day there will be something available for people to come in and have a go at.

"I think Alistor has been wanting to do this for years and years. It's been something in the back of my mind for a while too." They explained that the pet store is being refurbished with 100 per cent recycled material to help transform it into a gaming centre. "Obviously Southwell needs to bring more people in, it's all barber shops and beauticians here." A Southwell resident in her seventies who did not wish to be named said: "I would think it would be good, but I don't know because the library is very good, and people can take their children there and take part in games and activities.
