BYD sold a total of 700,244 EVs and PHEVs in the second quarter of the year, a record for the brand

started earlier in the year. Indeed, calculations reveal that BYD has launched updated versions of eight of its vehicles since February and the prices of them are 4-25% lower than the old versions. BYD’s gross profit margin in the second quarter hit 18.73%, a slight increase from the 17.86% of the first quarter.

BYD built its 5 millionth new energy vehicle in the second week of August. It reached this milestone just nine months after it built its 3 millionth NEV. The brand currently sells its passenger NEVs in 54 countries.
