The 2009 Irish Open champion's round gained momentum on the fourth hole when he executed a brilliant 224-yard approach shot on the par-five, landing the ball within a foot of the pin.Following his eagle, Lowry faced a setback with a bogey on the challenging par-four sixth hole. Despite a few missed putts, he finished on a high note, recording a 68 for the final round and wrapping up the tournament at 12-under-par.It appeared that McIlroy was on track to replicate his 2016 victory as he opened with a birdie on the first hole and joined the leader at the top when Long struggled with a three-putt on the second hole.
McIlroy's performance resulted in him finishing in a tied 16th place, earning him a prize of $75,257.14.
