Payne said negotiations between Unifor and Ford are “nowhere near” where they need to be as both sides head into the weekend, adding that the union has rejected two proposals from Ford since bargaining began because they did not adequately meet demands for improved wages and pensions. The union is also seeking better job security amid the electric-vehicle transition.
