Criminal barristers will strike on Tuesday as part of a dispute over recession-era cuts to criminal legal aid fees

Helen McEntee, the Minister for Justice, has said that the dispute over criminal law fees will form part of “a huge amount of change and investment” in the court system as barristers prepare to strike.

The justice minister has said she is engaging with barristers and the Department of Finance, who has been “nothing but supportive” in negotiations, emphasising that the ongoing industrial relations row will be factored into the part “of a wider vision” ...
