has been left reeling after heartless thieves swiped more than a quarter of a million dollars worth of vehicles and machinery from Molendinar.A $200,000 commercial truck was loaded up with a $70,000 excavator.The midnight raid lasted just under an hour and was all caught on camera.
Rolling into the carpark in a Jeep, wearing high-vis and in plain sight, the pair of thieves spent the best part of an hour chipping away at the door."I think any professional would be in and out in a couple of minutes," he said. Eventually the alleged thieves jimmy the door open, forcing their way inside the eight-tonne truck without a set of keys."It looked like he had a pinch bar and a hammer and he was sort of smashing and bashing it," Stoffels said.Stoffels, who manages a civil excavation company, said machinery theft is becoming a common trend.
With their hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen machinery on board, the thieves made their getaway east down Harper Street. They remain on the runStofels says the real victims are his customers."We've had to cancel everything."Stoffels said security cameras caught the faces of the thieves.
