Suzanne Somers arrives at the 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in Palm Springs, Calif. Somers’ longtime publicist R. Couri Hay wrote in a statement shared on behalf of the actress’ family: “Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years.
“Like any cancer patient, when you get that dreaded, ‘It’s back’ you get a pit in your stomach. Then I put on my battle gear and go to war,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “This is familiar battleground for me and I’m very tough.” She began acting in the late 1960s, playing the blonde driving the white Thunderbird in George Lucas’s 1973 film “American Graffiti.” Her only line was mouthing “I love you” to Richard Dreyfuss’s character, according toOn “Three’s Company,” she played a ditzy blonde opposite John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt in the roommate comedy that aired on ABC from 1977 to 1984.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
