PGA star Rory McIlroy, Olympic gold medalist boxer Anthony Joshua, Mexican soccer star Juan Mata, and English soccer star Trent Alexander-Arnold are also part of the group investing in Alpine F1.
Kelce, Mahomes, and McIlroy are part of a contingent of professional athlete investors in Alpine Racing, joining Olympic gold medalist boxer Anthony Joshua, Mexican soccer star Juan Mata, and English soccer star Trent Alexander-Arnold. Roger Ehrenberg, founder of Eberg Capital and an investor in MLB’s Miami Marlins and MLS’ Real Salt Lake.
The addition of Kelce, Mahomes, McIlroy, Joshua, Mata, and Alexander-Arnold will expand Alpine F1′s reach “to a new world of fans” and “help drive global awareness for Alpine F1,” Otro Capital said in the release. “I’ve always had a passion for all sports. The opportunity to lead an investor group with Travis in Alpine F1 alongside Otro Capital was one I couldn’t pass up,” Mahomes said. “It’s an exciting time for the sport and this is an opportunity to bring our shared values to the world stage. I’m looking forward to being a part of its growth.”from an investor group including actor Ryan Reynolds in exchange for a 24% stake in the team.
