European stocks finished lower Wednesday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index SXXP, -1.05% falling 1.05% to 445.02.

Shares of health care/life sciences firms Idorsia Ltd. IDIA, -9.78% Genmab A/S GMAB, -8.66% declined 9.8% and 8.7%, respectively. Shares of banking/credit firm Svenska Handelsbanken Series A SHB.A, +5.04% and telephone systems company Freenet AG FNTN, +4.82% gained 5.0% and 4.8%, respectively.
