U.S. stocks open higher as Dow attempts to snap four-day losing streak

U.S. stocks opened higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising after four straight days of losses, as investors digested the latest batch company earnings results for the third quarter. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.84% was up 0.5% soon after the bell, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.67% gained 0.5% and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.58% advanced 0.5%, according to FactSet data, at last check. Ahead of the opening bell, Coca-Cola Co. KO, +3.35%, General Electric Co.

and Google parent Alphabet Inc. after the closing bell on Tuesday.
